Full Day
Be captivated by the multiethnic character and historical wealth of the Mother City.
Cape Town is a rare cultural gem from the amalgamation of different nationalities of settlers and indigenous tribes. A harmonious blend of architectural styles has been meticulously preserved alongside high-rise office blocks, including Edwardian, Victorian and Cape Dutch. Narrow cobblestone streets, multicolored houses and the Islamic character of the Bo-Kaap enhance the cosmopolitan ambiance. The itinerary takes you to the Greenmarket Square – a historical square in the centre of old Cape Town; the Castle of Good Hope – this pentagon-shaped fort is the oldest surviving building in South Africa; the Company's Garden – a large public park, originally a vegetable garden established in 1652 by the Dutch East India Company led by Jan van Riebeeck, to feed the settlement as well as passing ships; and to the first national museum founded in 1825, housing African collections of zoology, paleontology and archaeology.
Stop at the iconic Victoria and Alfred Waterfront (optional), one of Cape Town's most lively neighbourhood with its the redeveloped docks and Table Mountain as its backdrop.
Complete your visit by taking the cableway to Table Mountain (optional) or, if closed because of the weather conditions, up to Signal Hill, both with spectacular panoramas over the city and the surroundings.
