Do you really know the SANParks?
If we say SANParks (for South Africa National Parks), you think "Kruger" and that's normal, it's the most famous! Today, we'd like to introduce you to three of SANParks' natural treasures - less famous, of course, but just as dazzling...
- Richtersveld National Park is a wild and mystical desert, where astonishing rock formations rise up under a starry sky. Explore its time-sculpted canyons and encounter unique drought-adapted plants, including the fascinating half-stone plant.
- Tankwa Karoo National Park is located in the Western Karoo, 250km from Cape Town, in the Northern Cape province. 144,000 hectares of peace, tranquillity and rugged natural beauty... On clear nights, the stargazing is phenomenal and offers hours of entertainment.
- Mokala National Park is the newest of the SANParks. It is located around 70 km south-west of Kimberley (and its famous diamond mine) in the Northern Cape Province. The park is home to a number of rare and endangered species of South African wildlife, including black and white rhino, Tsessebe buffalo and savannah buffalo.
These less-explored national parks offer unique experiences for nature lovers and curious adventurers!
